Arch Pain (Plantars Fasciitis)

Products to Treat Plantars Fasciitis Arch Pain

The term arch pain (often referred to as Plantars Fasciitis) refers to an inflammation and/or burning sensation at the arch of the foot. The plantar fascia is a broad band of fibrous tissue located along the bottom surface of the foot, that runs from the heel to the forefoot. The planter fascia can become inflamed due to over-pronation (flat feet) which causes the arch pain.

SYMPTOMS OF ARCH PAIN
See our article on Shoes for Plantars Fasciitis.

CAUSES OF ARCH PAIN
The major cause of arch pain is plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the muscle that runs along the bottom of the foot). Plantar fasciitis is caused by excessive stretching of the plantar fascia, usually due to over-pronation (flat feet). The inflammation caused by the plantar fascia being stretched away from the heel, often leads to pain in the heel and arch areas.

TREATMENT OF ARCH PAIN
Avoid high-heeled shoes whenever possible. Purchase high quality insoles or arch supports to take pressure and pain away from the arch. Additionally, you might want to try a Night Splint to apply a mild stretch to the muscle while you sleep.
