he pair of sneakers I bought, which are 9E (and sadly made in China), do look larger than they feel once they are on the foot. However, the sole of the shoe is hard and rugged, making for a confident grip that's stable and solid while walking.
The inside of the shoe is soft and caressing at all times, with enough space indeed, to insert an orthotic, if needed, without having to remove anything.
The shoe strings are easy to lace and do not slip out.
Altogether, this is an extremely comfortable pair of sneakers, especially for sensitive, achy feet since they support the foot in every way to avoid any discomfort.
I bought this footwear 1/2-inch larger than I usually wear just to ensure a proper fit since I was told black shoes, no matter if they're 9E or not, tend to be more narrow due to the dyes used in making them. I was not disappointed.

Advantages: Wide enough for an extra wide foot. Hard outer sole, good for traction and stability. They feel very comfortable, even after a long walk.
Disadvantages: Made in China. 9E may be wider than 6E, but barely perceptively, I think. I ordered a half-size larger just to be sure. If I bought my regular size 11, I don't think the 9E would fit as comfortably. It's better to order a half-size larger when dealing with shoes dyed black in color.

Once again, well fitting shoes. Just a tad narrower in the toe box than the last shoes I bought from Mt Emey but still ample.
Advantages: lightweight, comfortable
Disadvantages: could be a little wider in the toe box

My 19 year old son really likes these shoes and says that they are "cool". He wears standing AFOs which measure 11 inches long toe to heel with the foot in them. We bought size 11 X-Wide and they fit perfectly over his feet with the the AFOs on. The AFOs slide easily into these shoes and tie easily around the top of the AFOs. We took the 3 layers of insoles out of them so they are plenty deep enough. The quality of these shoes is also very good. Overall, we really like these shoes and like the way they function and look. Great purchase!
Advantages: Deep, Wide, Cool Looking!

Great shoes. Light weight. Roomy toe box. Excellent customer service as i had to exchange a pair because I needed a larger size. Was handled without question and very efficiently. Very satisfied
Advantages: Great flexability for hammer toe or bunions

I have only had these shoes for a few days but so fabric I really like them. In fact

Advantages: First time Ihave ordered xtra wide and added depth shoes that actually fit. The outer sole is firm and stiff enough to give you good support. And the insides are soft and cradle your feet.
Disadvantages: Would prefer metal eyelets for the laces and I would have bought a different color if one was available since I already have a black pair.

We finally found the sneakers that my husband can wear with his orthotic boot inside. Saved us hundreds of dollars from getting custom made.
Advantages: Customer service is amazing. On the phone in finding the right shoes and free returns in those that did not work out.
Disadvantages: None!

Very pleased with my purchase of these shoes. The width my son requires is very difficult to find.
Advantages: He has said that the shoes fit well, provide good support and were comfortable right out of the box, no break in required.
Disadvantages: As other reviewers have stated, the toe box is somewhat narrow and so I sized up by one size which solved the issue. The shoe laces are short for the style and width of the shoe.
