Product Description
Oboz Bridger Mid Women's Waterproof Hiking Boot. While the all-leather upper of the Bridger gives a nod to classic hikers of yore, there's nothing old-fashioned about these stats: a pliable, extra comfortable collar; a lightweight TPU forefoot plate that preserves the shoe's integrity; BDry waterproofing; metal hardware and a lightweight, aggressive outsole. Unlike the waffle stompers of our youth, the Bridger's leather goodness comes with practically no break in time. Model: 22102. Insole provides orthotic-like arch support and comfort.

I was hesitant to buy such expensive boots without ever having tried them on. My confidence in the Orthotic Shop returns helped me make the plunge, and I'm glad I did! The boots felt unnaturally stiff at first. After about two hours, I forgot that I was wearing them - a great sign of a properly-fitting shoe. I put them to the test through two full days' of wear, including puddles, sidewalks and trails, and they still felt comfortable (unlike my Merrells, which I can only wear for less than an hour before they start to hurt my instep). Recently, I tested them in the snow, and they performed very well, providing that necessary grip and protection.
The color is a great shade of red, not too bright, and not too dull. I was looking for something cheerful, especially for the Christmas season, and these are a nice change from my usual neutral colors.
My only warning is to shoppers with wide feet. The Oboz website warns against buying the wide width, saying that most people just need a large toebox, which the Oboz had. I trusted my gut and shopped around until I found the wide width here. :) It's a good thing I did, because the shoes are exactly wide enough, and I don't always wear wide width shoes. I would not be able to wear two pairs of winter socks with these Oboz.
